Our services can be tailored to the needs of your business, in terms of the degree and focus of support and when that support is applied to your change process.

 

The optimum timing is at the planning stage of the process, allowing the development of a complete end to end package. However, support  including project recovery, can be effectively applied during any stage to add significant value to achievement of the change goal.

 

Below are a set of activities that we can employ to assist with the development and management of change

 

Current situation analysis - mapping of current operation and processes to identify areas for improvement

Solution generation - moving on from identifying the root causes of priority problems to understanding the optimal solution

Project planning - creation of action plans and business case documents to establish the scope, benefit, cost, resources, schedule and performance characteristics of the change

Scale of change assessment - developing the  structure needed to provide governance to the change and an appropriate toolkit which is ‘fit for purpose’

Team coaching - providing training and mentoring services to team members on project methods and tools - leaving a learning legacy that can be employed on future change initiatives

Establishing a project or programme office - co-ordination of  the change process, communication and reporting of progress

 

Underlying principles

 

  • All change initiatives are different, but the underlying principles are similar - therefore the use of a standard process can provide significant benefits. We use adaptations of the PRINCE 2 method - with bespoke tools and templates
  • Keep it simple - remove complexity and focus on the key elements - the milestones and the critical path to success
  • Increase communication of the progress of change by making plans visible and transparent to all involved
  • Keep reporting and admin simple - reporting by exception, visual indicators, but with the ability to drill down to detail
  • Conduct a risk analysis at an early stage and continue with assessment and management of risks throughout the change - ensure there are no surprises
  • Understand the dependency chain between elements of the project and between projects in a programme or portfolio
